Key concession categories and discounts

Under Gujarat state welfare guidelines, GSRTC extends generous fare concessions across various passenger segments:

• Senior Citizens (Age 60+): Concessional bus travel on ordinary and express services across the state upon presenting a valid Senior Citizen ID or Aadhaar card.
• Divyangjan (Persons with Disabilities): 100% free travel across ordinary, express, and Gurjarnagri services for passengers with 40%+ permanent disability, with concession for an accompanying escort.
• Cancer Patients & Attendants: 100% free travel between home residence and specialized cancer treatment hospitals (e.g. GCRI Ahmedabad).
• Freedom Fighters: Lifetime free travel in all GSRTC bus classes for registered freedom fighters and their spouses.

How to obtain a concession pass

Eligible beneficiaries can register online through the GSRTC e-Pass system or submit documentation in person at their nearest divisional depot passing office. Once verified, commuters receive an RFID smart concession card valid across all 16 GSRTC administrative divisions.

Senior citizens traveling on ordinary or express services are not required to obtain an advance pass; showing a government-issued photo ID reflecting date of birth directly to the bus conductor grants immediate fare concession.
